London startup Mindmax announced $3.3m (£2.5m) in pre-seed funding to build an AI tutor for professional exams and workplace skills. Concept Ventures led the round, joined by Redrice Ventures, Daybreak Ventures and Lerer Hippeau. Founded by former Memrise colleagues Ed Cooke and Daniel Zohar, Mindmax lets learners speak with a tutor in real time, interrupt with questions and redirect lessons while the app draws diagrams and illustrations. The company says lessons adapt to users' existing knowledge and goals.
