Infleqtion says NASA awarded $20 million for quantum gravity mission work

Infleqtion said NASA awarded it a $20 million follow-on contract for the Quantum Gravity Gradiometer Pathfinder mission, a technology pathfinder intended to demonstrate quantum gravity sensing from space. The company said it will design, mature and integrate the atomic-physics package, including vacuum, laser and control subsystems. The cold-atom system uses ultracold rubidium atoms and is designed to make direct gravity-gradient measurements. Infleqtion said the work is intended to reduce risk for later high-resolution quantum gravity instruments rather than represent a science-grade operational system.
