Anthropic discloses $1.7 billion in quarterly personnel expenses

Anthropic's personnel expenses topped $1.7 billion for 5,300 workers in the third quarter, Business Insider reported, citing an amended IPO filing released Monday. Stock-based compensation accounted for $1.1 billion of that total; the expenses also included salaries, bonuses, benefits and employer payroll taxes. Personnel costs totaled $4.8 billion over the first nine months of 2026, representing 15% of revenue. At the end of September, Anthropic had more than $32 billion in stock-based compensation expenses it had not yet recognized, with a successful listing set to increase personnel costs in coming quarters.
