AWS adds cross-account endpoint sharing to MediaConnect Router

AWS has added an endpoint registry to Elemental MediaConnect Router that lets customers register external devices and software and share endpoints with other AWS accounts. The feature is available at no additional cost in every region where MediaConnect Router operates. The registry uses AWS Resource Access Manager for sharing and includes verification of encryption and protocol controls. AWS says direct sharing reduces required compute instances and network hops, lowering costs and latency. It also removes manual chaining of router inputs and outputs for broadcasters and distributors sharing live video across accounts.
