Stolen IFAPME records for 700,000 people posted free on dark web

Hackers post thousands of national registration and bank account numbers on the dark web  | VRT NWS: news Image: Primary
Personal data for 700,000 people from the Walloon training network IFAPME has been posted free on a dark-web forum, VRT reports, citing breach tracker FrenchBreaches. The records include national registration numbers and bank account details. Hackers stole the data during a cyberattack last February, including 85,000 bank account numbers. Free republication may increase exposure for those affected. FrenchBreaches says the records can link identities with addresses, contact details, dates of birth and, for some people, bank details. Belgian national registration numbers are permanent identifiers. IBAN numbers alone cannot authorize payments, but FrenchBreaches warns that combining them with identity information can facilitate fraud and make phishing messages more credible.
