Databricks makes Genie One data connector generally available

Databricks made its Genie One Model Context Protocol server generally available to all customers, allowing compatible AI agents to query structured and unstructured enterprise data through a governed interface. The service uses Genie Ontology to apply approved business definitions, data relationships and source authority rather than leaving each assistant to interpret raw data independently. The managed service runs through Unity Gateway with fine-grained policies and audit logs. It can return query results, progress updates, visualizations and citations while enforcing user permissions. Machine-to-machine authentication remains available, but it represents every caller as one identity and removes per-user permission enforcement.
