Alphabet's quarterly filing published Thursday details more than $1tn in future payments for computing, energy and data centres, The Next Web reported. The commitments do not appear on its balance sheet. Purchase commitments total $924.4bn, including $802.1bn for technical infrastructure and inventory, energy take-or-pay contracts and content licences. Most of that $802.1bn will be fulfilled through 2031, with $213.4bn due within 12 months. Alphabet separately lists $130.5bn in leases that have not started, mainly for data centres and energy infrastructure, and $21.9bn in future equity investment funding. The leases begin between 2026 and 2031 and run for one to 26 years.
