AWS adds September security patch support for Oracle databases

Amazon Web Services says Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports the September 2026 Monthly Recommended Patch for Oracle Database 19c and 26ai. The update combines Oracle's September Critical Security Patch Update with additional fixes and applies on top of the July 2026 Release Update. The release also updates the time zone file to version 46, reflecting rule changes in parts of Canada, Morocco and Western Sahara. Customers can apply it to new database instances or upgrade existing instances through the RDS console, SDK or command-line interface.
