Indian Lender KreditBee Raises $200 Million at $1.1 Billion Valuation
Image: Primary KreditBee, a Bengaluru-based digital lending platform, has raised $200 million in a funding round that values the company at approximately $1.1 billion.
The financing brings the Indian fintech startup into unicorn territory. KreditBee offers personal loans, credit lines, and business financing products primarily to young professionals and small businesses in India.
The company said it will use the capital to expand its loan book, enhance its credit scoring algorithms, and broaden its product offerings. KreditBee claims to have disbursed over $3 billion in loans since its founding in 2018.
India's digital lending market has grown rapidly as smartphone penetration and digital payments infrastructure have expanded. However, the sector faces regulatory headwinds, with the Reserve Bank of India tightening norms for non-bank lenders and buy-now-pay-later providers.
The funding round reflects continued investor interest in Indian fintech despite broader market volatility and tightening global capital conditions.
