Google buys Spirit Airlines enterprise dataset for AI-model work
Image: Primary Google bought part of Spirit Airlines' enterprise dataset for $10 million in the carrier's bankruptcy auction, according to the report and a Google statement. Google said the dataset can help improve its products and AI models and will be scrubbed of personally identifiable information by a third party before it receives it. The purchased material includes business and operational data and software code, while Google says it excludes passenger profiles and loyalty-program data.
