Samsung's second chip plant in Taylor, Texas, has secured orders for its entire output to make parts for AMD and Nvidia's AI memory, Maeil Business Newspaper reported, citing industry sources. Most of the booked volume is for AMD. The plant would produce base dies, the logic layer beneath stacked high-bandwidth memory chips, using Samsung's 2-nanometre process. Formal construction is due to begin this month, with equipment arriving from February 2029 and mass production in 2030. Samsung declined to comment, and Reuters could not confirm the report.
