China allegedly recruited Nvidia customer executive to gather chip intelligence

STKP210_JENSEN_HUANG_A Image: Primary
China's Ministry of State Security recruited Megaspeed executive Alice Huang to gather intelligence on American AI chips through her relationship with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, The New York Times reported, as relayed by The Verge. The alleged effort also sought potentially to influence Nvidia to make its most advanced chips available to China. Megaspeed is an Nvidia customer. The recruitment allegation adds to reporting last week that identified Jensen Huang as a target of a Chinese espionage plot. Three House committees asked him yesterday to attend a joint, closed-door briefing about his interactions with Alice Huang. The two are not related.
