Intersect urges Cardano operators to patch Linux flaw allowing remote code execution

Intersect Urges Cardano Operators to Patch Critical Linux Kernel Vulnerability CVE-2026-98432 | KuCoin Image: Primary
Cardano organization Intersect urged stake pool operators on Oct. 30 to update and reboot block producers and relay servers against a critical Linux kernel vulnerability. CVE-2026-98432 affects incoming IPv4 TCP connections; Red Hat says an attacker without credentials could exploit it to execute code. Ubuntu listed standard kernels for versions 22.04, 24.04, 26.04 and 26.10 as vulnerable, with fixes in progress. AlmaLinux had patched kernels in testing repositories for versions 8, 9 and 10. Disabling unneeded Multipath TCP and filtering certain packets can reduce exposure, but vendors say interim measures cannot replace patches. Intersect reported no exploitation against Cardano.
