Baseten reportedly plans about $2bn raise at valuation up to $30bn

Baseten reportedly plans about $2bn raise at valuation up to $30bn Image: Primary
Baseten is set to raise about $2bn at a valuation of up to $30bn, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the plans. Existing investor Sands Capital is set to lead the financing. The planned round has two tranches, valuing the AI inference startup at $26bn and $30bn respectively. Both exceed the $13bn valuation Bloomberg assigned to its June financing, when Baseten announced a $1.5bn Series F. Baseten sells software that companies use to run AI models in production. The proposed financing would bring additional capital to that business through a structure in which investors buy into the same company at different prices.
