Firefly says NASA added it to $10 billion lunar delivery contract

Firefly Aerospace said NASA added it as a vendor under the $10 billion Commercial Lunar Payload Services 2 contract, allowing it to compete for lunar delivery task orders over a 10-year ordering period. The program emphasizes lander reliability, larger cargo landers and infrastructure for a permanent Moon Base. Firefly is increasing production of Blue Ghost landers and Elytra orbiters in an expanded cleanroom that can accommodate up to 12 spacecraft. Vendor status opens access to competitions for orders; the $10 billion is the program's contract value, rather than an award to Firefly.
