Poland secures platform response commitments after school attacks

Poland secures platform response commitments after school attacks Image: Primary
Poland summoned Google, Meta, TikTok, Discord and Telegram on Friday to demand faster action against violent content after school knife attacks, Reuters reported. The platforms agreed to train staff in the coming weeks and establish direct contacts for Polish authorities, Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski said. Authorities flagged 89 posts as illegal between 7 and 12 October; only 30 were removed, the minister said. X was invited but did not attend. A bill allowing immediate removal orders and fines of millions of złoty still needs the president's signature; he vetoed an earlier version over free speech concerns.
