Amazon reported negative free cash flow of $42.4 billion for the trailing 12 months, compared with positive free cash flow of $14.8 billion a year earlier. The company attributed the spending largely to investments in AI and reiterated its expectation for about $220 billion in cash capital expenditures in 2026. The cash figures add to the revenue results already reported on Thursday. AWS sales reached $45.98 billion, exceeding analysts' $45.29 billion expectation, while AWS operating income rose to $17.8 billion from $11.4 billion in the third quarter of 2025.
