TSMC's third-quarter revenue reached about 1.49 trillion Taiwan dollars, rising about 50 percent from a year earlier and exceeding the market estimate of about 1.46 trillion Taiwan dollars, DigitalToday reported. The quarterly figure was calculated from sales for July through September. September consolidated revenue rose 54.6 percent from a year earlier to 511.86 billion Taiwan dollars, though it fell 0.6 percent from August. The report identified advanced chips for AI as the main growth driver, with demand for leading-edge manufacturing processes benefiting the foundry. TSMC will announce third-quarter results and release its outlook on Oct. 15.
