Databricks opens beta connector for querying Workday data in place

Databricks opens beta connector for querying Workday data in place Image: Primary
Databricks announced a publicly available beta connector that lets teams query Workday HR and finance data alongside other enterprise data without maintaining duplicate copies. The Workday Data Connect connector uses Unity Catalog to govern access and supports Databricks SQL, AI/BI, notebooks and Genie. The connector retrieves table metadata from Workday's Iceberg catalog, then uses Databricks compute to read data directly from Workday's managed cloud storage and execute queries. Administrators can set permissions at the catalog, schema and table levels, with lineage and auditing. Access is read-only. The beta requires a Unity Catalog enabled workspace, Databricks Runtime 19 or above, and activation by a workspace administrator.
