A new open-source command-line tool called RemoveMacAI can disable Apple Intelligence features, delete their local models and block downloads, The Verge reports. macOS 27 removed the single settings toggle for disabling Apple Intelligence; turning off its separate features still leaves the models on disk. The developer says the models occupy about 12GB and that removal persists across macOS updates while Dictation continues working. The Verge's writer found 35.05GB attributed to Apple Intelligence on a MacBook Air. A revert command restores the features and permits model downloads again.
