PGX releases ranked search extension for PostgreSQL 17 and 18

PGX Inc. has released pgx-bm25 1.0, adding full-text search that ranks matching documents by relevance directly within PostgreSQL. The company says the extension runs ranked queries through an ordered index scan, without a separate sorting step or an external search engine. The index uses PostgreSQL's own storage, logging, crash recovery and physical replication. Administrators can change ranking parameters without rebuilding the index. The standalone extension uses the PostgreSQL License and has no separate commercial edition. It supports PostgreSQL 17 and 18; PostgreSQL 19 beta is tested but is not a supported major version.
