Micron opens Boise semiconductor training center Image: Primary
Micron opened a 60,000-square-foot training center near its Boise operations for advanced semiconductor manufacturing roles, Blockonomi reported. The facility includes up to 20 semiconductor process tools intended to replicate parts of a fabrication environment before workers enter production areas. Micron and the U.S. Department of Commerce provided $3 million to expand a partnership with the College of Western Idaho, which will offer selected semiconductor and engineering programs at the center. The source says Micron aims for triple-digit Boise apprenticeship enrollment by fiscal 2027.
