Developer demonstrates game-generating AI prototype on Pico microcontroller

The developer of tinyworldformer reports running two neural networks on a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W: one predicts game frames and rewards, while the other selects actions inside the generated game. The prototype also supports an agent learning directly on the board. The world model reuses a transformer block's weights to reduce memory requirements and uses eight-bit calculations. Reported firmware memory use ranges from 227 KB of RAM for Flappy Bird to 460 KB for Pac-Man. The developer has not measured the Pico's frame rate, and testing found 742 wrong Pac-Man game states over 5,000 generated steps.
