Android 17 QPR2 beta adds call-forwarding safeguards for Pixel
Image: Primary Google has released Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 for eligible Pixel devices, according to the report. The update restricts apps from silently running call-forwarding USSD requests using basic phone permissions.
When users manually dial a call-forwarding code, the system now requires confirmation before executing it. The report also says developers managing call-setup flows must use the standard dialer intent so users can explicitly approve the action. Beta 4 additionally includes fixes for audio lockups, thermal-related reboots, Bluetooth call-audio routing, XR rendering and charging behavior near the 80% battery limit.
