AMD crosses $1 trillion in market value for the first time

AMD's market capitalization crossed $1 trillion for the first time on Monday after its shares opened at $607, up from roughly $557 at Friday's close. The stock rose roughly 9% during the first few hours of trading and had gained around 29% over the preceding month. The milestone places AMD among fewer than two dozen companies reported to have passed a $1 trillion valuation. Its capitalization briefly slipped below the threshold during trading, underscoring that the figure moves with its share price. Nvidia, AMD's larger rival in AI accelerators, was valued at roughly $5.4 trillion.
