Starman Optical has agreed to merge with GoPro in a transaction valued at $285 million, TechCrunch reported. Under the proposed deal, GoPro shareholders would receive $1.14 per share and retain about 10% of the combined public company. The merger is expected to close by year-end and would eliminate GoPro's $92 million in outstanding debt. The companies said they plan to invest in consumer, commercial, and defense markets and to onshore manufacturing for strategic products.
