FBI seizes seven domains supporting China-linked hacking platforms

FBI seizes seven domains supporting China-linked hacking platforms Image: Primary
The FBI has seized seven domains supporting MicroScan and FishHub, hacking platforms allegedly operated by China-based Integrity Technology Group. U.S. authorities say the tools enabled vulnerability scanning and intrusions against critical infrastructure and other organizations worldwide. MicroScan identified weaknesses in networks, while FishHub delivered malware that provided remote access and stole files. Investigators found data belonging to more than 20 organizations on a server linked to FishHub. The seized domains now display FBI notices. A joint advisory provides indicators that organizations can use to identify intrusions. Although authorities confirmed critical infrastructure breaches, they did not disclose whether the specifically named power companies, airports and energy providers were breached.
