Hitachi and Agile Robots agree to develop factory automation systems Image: Primary
Hitachi has agreed to develop systems for complex factory work with Germany's Agile Robots, combining its manufacturing expertise and AI technology with the robotics company's platform, according to Hitachi. The partnership covers tasks including parts handling, machine loading, assembly and production changeovers. Agile Robots contributes robotic arms, mobile robots, its Agile One humanoid and software that uses data from robot operations. Hitachi will pair its edge AI semiconductors with those systems to process information from robot vision and touch. Hitachi plans to commercialize the resulting technologies globally through HMAX Industry, its industrial systems portfolio. Autonomous operation of entire factories is the companies' longer-term objective.
