OpenAI rolls out Dot texting beta for US ChatGPT Pro users

OpenAI is rolling out a beta that lets US ChatGPT Pro subscribers assign tasks to their Dot agent through Apple's iMessage and Android's RCS, Digital Trends reported. Users can send text, photos and voice messages and receive proactive updates. Users activate texting from Dot's profile and verify their phone number. Dot can use context from ChatGPT conversations and connected channels to choose where to send updates; users can direct urgent updates to texts and routine ones to ChatGPT. Tasks requiring approval generate a link for review in the app. OpenAI says setup does not grant access to other text conversations. The beta supports only one-to-one messaging, excluding group chats, phone calls and FaceTime.
