Microsoft discloses $10bn in quarterly revenue from OpenAI

Microsoft discloses $10bn in quarterly revenue from OpenAI Image: Primary
Microsoft recorded $10bn in revenue from commercial arrangements with OpenAI in the three months to September, about 11% of its total revenue, according to its October 28 quarterly filing. This was its first disclosure of a quarterly figure for the arrangement. The amount includes revenue-sharing payments, but the filing does not separate those from OpenAI's spending on Azure. OpenAI owed Microsoft $7.2bn at the end of September, up from $6.0bn in June. Microsoft owns about 24% of OpenAI and has paid $12.0bn of its $13.0bn investment commitment.
