AWS opens PostgreSQL 19 RC1 testing in RDS preview environment

AWS has made PostgreSQL 19 Release Candidate 1 available in the Amazon RDS Database Preview Environment, letting customers evaluate the database prerelease on its managed service. AWS says the release improves handling of complex text searches, parallel automatic database cleanup and maintenance of GIN indexes. Preview instances last a maximum of 60 days and are then automatically deleted. Snapshots can create or restore instances only within the preview environment; customers can import or export databases using PostgreSQL dump and load tools.
