AWS GovCloud adds Claude Haiku 5.5 for high-volume AI workloads

AWS has made Claude Haiku 5.5 available in AWS GovCloud (US) through Amazon Bedrock, expanding access to the model for high-volume, cost-sensitive workloads. Anthropic says it costs around 75% less than Haiku 4.5 for most tasks. The model adds effort controls that let teams adjust the balance between cost and capability. It supports coding, tool use, browser automation, classification and document processing, including tasks delegated by larger models. Bedrock keeps customer data within AWS infrastructure with regional data residency and provides AWS-managed features including Guardrails and Knowledge Bases. The cost comparison is Anthropic's claim.
