Spotify plans audiobook expansion from 22 to more than 180 markets Image: Primary
Spotify announced plans to expand audiobook access from 22 markets to more than 180 by the end of 2026. Listeners in new markets will gain access to more than 350,000 titles spanning over 120 languages, with non-exclusive publisher partnerships. Eligible Premium subscribers in selected markets will receive 12 hours of monthly audiobook listening. Audiobooks+ will be the primary access route across Africa, Asia, and Argentina, while direct purchases offer another option. Pricing and access models vary by market. Spotify also says Audiobooks+ has more than one million subscribers and exceeds $100 million in annual recurring revenue. Student-plan access to the add-on will begin in November in Ireland, Belgium, Austria, and Finland.
