Desktop GPU shipments reach 12.5 million in Q2 2026, highest since early 2022
Image: Primary Desktop discrete graphics card shipments totaled 12.5 million units in the second quarter of 2026, up about 5.9% sequentially and 7.8% year-over-year, according to Jon Peddie Research.
That is the highest quarterly total since Q1 2022, when 13.38 million add-in boards shipped, and it came despite record-high prices. Nvidia shipped roughly 11.25 million desktop discrete GPUs for about 90% share, its highest quarterly desktop total since Q3 2017. AMD held about 8% and Intel about 2%. JPR president Jon Peddie attributed the spike to consumers buying ahead of further price increases, which he linked to the war in Iran. First-half 2026 shipments reached 24.3 million units.
