AWS ends government NDAs for data center projects

AWS ends government NDAs for data center projects Image: Primary
Amazon Web Services has ended its use of non-disclosure agreements with state and local government agencies for data center development, Lapaas Voice reported, citing CEO Matt Garman's updated Data Center Commitment. The change removes confidentiality agreements used in negotiations over land acquisitions, zoning, water permits and municipal tax incentives. Garman said more than 100 data center moratoriums or zoning freezes were being considered by local governments across the United States. The policy applies to government and municipal agencies; AWS retains commercial NDAs with private landholders, utility providers, construction contractors and technology vendors.
