Three men face wire fraud, money laundering and aggravated identity theft charges in an alleged scheme that used AI to impersonate company executives, The Next Web reported. The US has requested the extradition of Jacob Soall, Sharon Hazan and Guy Sheetrit following arrests in Spain and the UK. According to the indictment, the scheme ran from 2024 to 2026. An impersonated executive asked an employee to help with a secret deal, then directed them to a supposed lawyer who supplied bank transfer details. Prosecutors say proceeds passed through overseas accounts and were converted into cryptocurrency. Victims included a Missouri hospital system and a UK fintech company. The most serious counts carry up to 20 years in prison; the defendants are presumed innocent.
