Shanghai AI lab reports AI-assisted proof of three-dimensional Ghys conjecture

Chinese scientists solve 30-year-old mathematical conjecture using a domestic AI model | KuCoin Image: Primary
The Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory announced that researchers had proved the three-dimensional Ghys conjecture through collaboration between mathematicians and its Shuwen-S2 multimodal model, IT Home reported. The conjecture, proposed in 1995, concerns the mathematical classification of certain systems on compact complex manifolds. The team led by Professor Xu Disheng combined specialized mathematical knowledge with the model. A Peking University team used its SHEAF framework to formally verify the proof, according to the announcement. The research paper is available as an arXiv preprint, and the formalized code is public on GitHub. The laboratory plans to incorporate the mathematical verification module into its Duanyan scientific discovery platform for reuse.
