Community project brings Amiga Unix to newer processors and accelerators

An unofficial community project has made Commodore's Amiga Unix run on 68040 and 68060 processors and supported accelerator hardware, adding drivers, a modern cross-development toolchain and a networked package manager. Its installer works from floppy and CD-ROM on physical machines and from disk images under emulation. The project says its Z3660 SCSI and Ethernet drivers have been tested on real hardware, while the package repository initially offers grep, gzip, less, patch and zlib. Graphics support for the Z3660 is still being tested under emulation, and the project describes a broader public launch as a future step.
