Reddit reports weekly search referrals fell by more than 1 million

Reddit's search traffic in October dropped by more than 1 million referrals on average per week, the company disclosed in its third-quarter earnings. CEO Steve Huffman attributed part of the decline to Google's AI Mode and AI Overviews changing how people use search, The Verge reported. Huffman said the AI features push websites lower on search pages. Reddit also believes its machine-translated content is ranking lower, primarily affecting traffic outside the United States. He said Reddit remains a top Google search term and that Google continues crawling its content as heavily as before.
