Pebble Mega Update, July 2026

Pebble Mega Update, July 2026 Image: Primary
Pebble announced a major software update and provided production details for the Pebble Time 2 on Thursday. The company said its four-person software team has shipped extensive open-source improvements over the last six months focused on battery life, apps and stability. Pebble said optimizations boosted the median battery life of the Pebble 2 Duo from 17 days to over 30 days, while the Pebble Time 2 median reached around 21 days. The updates include new SDK features such as Touch Screen, Speaker and RGB Backlight APIs, Alloy native JavaScript apps, FFI for running C code, and a JavaScript debugger. Developers have created 2,120 apps and watchfaces for the Time 2 and Round 2. The first version of Index 01 functionality is now running inside the Pebble mobile app, offering syncing to iOS Reminders, Obsidian, Google Tasks, Calendar, Android music control and optional encrypted cloud backup. Pebble said it is transitioning to reverse PPoGATT to enable iOS AccessorySetupKit and eventual notification replies for EU users. The company acknowledged three major software issues without a fix timeline: inaccurate step and sleep tracking for some users, accelerometer failures and touch screen failures. On production, Pebble said it has built over 23,000 Time 2 units since late March and is over 80% through pre-order fulfillment, with remaining color variants shipping by July 31.
