India's government has notified the Semicon 2.0 scheme with an outlay of ₹1.27 lakh crore for the semiconductor ecosystem. The scheme provides fiscal support across chip design, capital equipment, fabrication, assembly, packaging and testing. Its notification says the program will focus on resilient and sovereign semiconductor technologies, including locally developed IP cores, chips, systems-on-chips and modules for strategically identified needs.
