AWS expands Aurora Serverless performance upgrade to five regions

Amazon Aurora Serverless now offers up to 30% better performance and an enhanced scaling algorithm in five additional AWS regions: New Zealand, Thailand, Cape Town, Milan and Mexico Central. The changes apply to Aurora PostgreSQL and Aurora MySQL through platform version 4. New clusters, restores and clones use that version automatically, while existing clusters can upgrade through maintenance, restart or blue/green deployment options. AWS says the scaling changes address workloads with competing tasks, including bursty application and API traffic.
