Google makes cross-cloud Lakehouse features generally available

Google makes cross-cloud Lakehouse features generally available Image: Primary
Google Cloud said several features of its borderless Lakehouse are now generally available, including cross-cloud caching for AWS and Azure, BigQuery support for Apache Iceberg V3, and shared read-write access to Iceberg tables from BigQuery and its managed Apache Spark service. The release also makes Confluent Tableflow integration generally available: the Iceberg tables it produces appear directly in BigQuery without copying or an extra data transformation pipeline. Catalog connections let enterprises access data across AWS Glue, Databricks Unity Catalog and Snowflake Horizon Catalog. The related Gemini integration, which lets users configure access to external data sources through Gemini, remains in preview.
