Brazil plans two public AI supercomputers across Huawei and Nvidia stacks
Image: Primary Brazil plans to spend 2.3 billion reais, about $444 million, on two AI supercomputers: a Huawei and iFlytek system in Rio de Janeiro and a second system expected to be tendered to Nvidia in Rio Grande do Norte.
The Huawei project is scheduled to begin in July 2027, while the second is due to operate by the end of 2027. Funding will be released in phases from the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development. Neither system exists yet, and the Nvidia tender has not been formally awarded.
