Japan allocates another ¥150 billion to Rapidus

Japan's government is allocating an additional ¥150 billion ($944 million) to chip startup Rapidus, according to Bloomberg. The funding adds to Japan's effort to develop a domestic chip supplier able to compete with established manufacturers including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Bloomberg characterizes the effort as a long-shot bid.
