Dream Labs announces $90M seed funding and public robot-control API

Dream Labs announces $90M seed funding and public robot-control API Image: Primary
Dream Labs announced $90M in seed funding and opened a public API for Dream-1, a model for controlling robots with two arms and parallel grippers. The company says the model can perform tasks on previously unseen robots without demonstrations or fine-tuning for those machines. Dream-1 predicts gripper positions and whether each gripper should open or close. A robot's own software translates those instructions into joint movements. The service costs $3 per hour for Dream-1 or $2 per hour for Dream-1-flash. Performance varies across robots and depends partly on their movement-solving software. Dream Labs says fine-tuning improved language-following scores on ten of twelve partner robots.
