Vercel adds Gemini 3.8 speech models to AI Gateway Image: Primary
Vercel says Google's Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite TTS and Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS models are now available through its AI Gateway. Both turn text into speech in more than 100 languages and support long-form narration and two-speaker dialogue. Vercel positions Flash-Lite for high-volume speech generation with controls over tone and pacing. Flash TTS adds voice and character design through written prompts. Developers can call the models through the gateway's speech API, which tracks usage and cost per request and supports routing rules or a developer's own provider key.
