Honda and Nissan agree to jointly develop vehicle software
Image: Primary Honda and Nissan signed a joint development agreement covering electronic control units, an in-vehicle operating system, middleware and vehicle-control software. The companies said the collaboration is intended to support faster development cycles and more efficient investment, with the first vehicles using the work expected in fiscal 2029. The agreement follows the collapse of their merger talks and does not disclose costs, savings, suppliers or the specific control units to be standardized.
