Anthropic gives six METR evaluators access to internal risk systems

Anthropic logo Image: Primary
Anthropic says it has onboarded six METR employees with company hardware, office space and access to internal tools roughly comparable to that of its own risk assessment teams. METR will publish assessments of Anthropic's risks, incidents and practices, and Anthropic cannot veto publication. The arrangement excludes defined categories including customer data, attorney-client-privileged information and model architecture information. Anthropic can require redactions within those categories, but METR may publicly challenge their justification. Other evaluator partnerships have narrower access and publication rights; SecureBio currently needs Anthropic's approval to publish findings.
