Purge review finds a way to remove Apple Intelligence models from macOS 27

Purge review finds a way to remove Apple Intelligence models from macOS 27 Image: Primary
The free, open source Mac utility Purge can remove Apple Intelligence's offline models and prevent macOS from reinstalling them, WIRED found in a hands-on review. Removing the models could free up over 10 GB after Apple removed the toggle for disabling the features altogether in macOS 27. The models power notification summaries, writing suggestions and the new AI-powered Siri. Purge also identifies caches, large files and data left by uninstalled applications. It uses lists of files considered safe to remove, excludes crucial system files and personal documents, and sends files to the Trash for recovery.
